What is the best Blog to use?

I have noticed that many people are using different solutions to accomplish blogging, so the question I have is, what is the best solution right now for blogging? Anybody have any metrics on it?

WordPress. The .com version is fine but I love the customization options of the install-and-host-it-yourself .org version. It's powerful, has a ton of features but is simple, and if you want it to do something it doesn't, there's probably already a plugin that does it.

Not to mention a few new plugins just came out that allow one-step, auto upgrades to the newest version from within the browser (there's a shell version as well), and a new Firefox/Plugin combination that lets you install themes and plugins from within Firefox with approx. one click (just found these tonight and haven't had a chance to check them out.

Oh yeah, and there's WordPress MU (Multi-User), if you want multiple blogs with centralized control, themes and user accounts. It's basically what WordPress.com runs on.

Feel free to disagree, but I've been using it to blog for several years (multiple blogs) and have been practically living and breathing it for the past few months!

No metrics here, just experience :-)

I wanted to just weigh in really quickly on this topic. I have been using blogger for two years and wordpress for about one. I really like the way you can tweak Wordpress fairly easily by using plugins and other additions.

But still, I really like blogger blogs, even though they sometimes look sort of primitive (like my tv site). But still, they have a certain charm to them, and I love the way it is so easy to add an element to your page from the layout tab by just adding boxes.

To me the simplicity of blogger and the "out of the box SEO" nature of this CMS is very cool.

That's my opinion.
